~ LONE TORNADO ~
Grey Arab Stallion
1978-1989

Lone Tornado was given to Hannah Skepper by her mother, Nancy Backhouse, when he was a yearling. At four years he started competing and by the time he was six he had won numerous pony club one day events, hunter trials, dressage and show jumping competitions. He also was placed in hand and under saddle at County Level.

He was then competed under BSJA Junior rules and won six consequtive foxhunters and over £200 in prize money. He qualified for the Newcomers and Foxhunter regionals two years on the trot and was competed by both Jane, Johnny and Georgina Skepper.

He was given a dispensation by the Pony Club to allow him to compete in the Area Show Jumping teams with which he qualified for Hickstead.

In an interlude between Johnny and Georgina competing him he went racing for one year in 1986. He was only unplaced once out of 6 starts.

A truly outstanding competitor and immensely versatile in his career.

He was used quite lightly at stud but produced excellent part breds and anglos who now form the background to the stud:-
